Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the MindBridge Kenya website ("Site") or our mental health services ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use our Site or Services.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Description of Services

MindBridge Kenya provides:

  • In-person therapy sessions at our Nairobi location
  • School-based mental health programs
  • Online and phone consultations
  • Mental health resources and workshops
  • Staff training and wellness programs

Our Services are provided by licensed mental health professionals. While we strive to support your wellbeing, therapy outcomes vary by individual.

Eligibility

To use our Services, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old (minors require parental/guardian consent)
  • You are capable of forming a binding contract
  • You will provide accurate and truthful information
  • You are not seeking emergency crisis services (please call emergency helplines for immediate danger)

Bookings & Cancellations

Appointment Policy

All therapy sessions must be scheduled in advance through our website, phone, or email. We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

Late Cancellation & No-Show Policy

  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice: 50% of session fee applies
  • No-shows (without any notice): Full session fee applies
  • Emergency situations are evaluated on a case-by-case basis

Late Arrival

If you arrive late, your session will still end at the scheduled time to respect other clients. The full fee applies.

Payments & Fees

Fees for our Services are clearly displayed on our website and may be updated from time to time. Payment is due at the time of booking or before your session begins.

We accept:

  • M-PESA
  • Bank transfer
  • Cash (in-person sessions only)

We offer sliding scale fees for qualifying individuals — please contact us to inquire.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is fundamental to our Services. Information shared during therapy is protected under Kenyan law and professional ethics. However, there are legal exceptions:

  • Risk of serious harm to yourself or others
  • Suspected child abuse or neglect (mandatory reporting)
  • Court order or legal requirement
  • Supervision purposes (with identifying information removed)

We will always discuss confidentiality limits with you before beginning therapy.

Limitations of Liability

MindBridge Kenya provides therapeutic support, but we do not provide emergency crisis services. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, suicidal thoughts, or immediate danger:

Call 1199 (Kenya Red Cross), 999 (emergency services), or go to your nearest hospital emergency room.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MindBridge Kenya is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our Services. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees you paid for Services in the past 6 months.

We do not guarantee specific outcomes from therapy. Mental health improvements vary based on many factors including your engagement and commitment.

User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use our Site or Services for any illegal purpose
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse our staff or other clients
  • Attempt to access unauthorized areas of our systems
  • Interfere with the functioning of our website
  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Record therapy sessions without explicit consent

Violation may result in immediate termination of Services and legal action if warranted.

Termination

Either party may terminate the therapeutic relationship at any time. We recommend discussing termination with your therapist to ensure appropriate closure and referral if needed.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to our Site or Services for violation of these Terms, without prior notice.
